Music is taught to all classes three periods per cycle.
Orff and Kodaly methodologies are part of each lesson incorporating singing, playing instruments, listening, movement, & dance.
Students take part in performances including: Christmas Musical (Drama, Chorus, Choreography) and Gladstone Music & Arts Festival (Choir, Orff, Action Songs)

Beginner and Junior Band

Band is taught on Days 2 & 4 (two hours per cycle for Gladstone, Plumas, and Langruth students). Beginner Band is a required subject taught to students in their first year of band usually beginning in Grade 6. Junior Band is an optional subject taught to Grade 7 & 8 students in their second and third year in the band program.
Students take part in performances including: Christmas Concerts, Gladstone Music & Arts Festival, Spring Concert, and Year End Band Concert.

Grade 5-8 Choir
Choir takes place on Day 6, period 1. Extra practices take place at lunch recesses in preparation for performances.
The choir performs at various venues including: Remembrance Day Services, Christmas Concert, Gladstone Music & Arts Festival, and Spring Concert.

French is taught three periods per cycle for Grade 1.
All students are expected to speak French during class.
Accelerative Integrated Method (AIM) Language Learning is incorporated in Grades 1 using gestures, drama, and music.
Activities in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in French are part of each class. Special holidays and cultural events are observed as well in French.
